Welcome to Fallowfield SureStart Children's Centre
Along with other Centres in the area, Fallowfield SureStart Children's Centre was created to continue the excellent work delivered by the Moss Side, Rusholme and Fallowfield local SureStart programme.
The Centre consists of the main hub building situated at the rear of Wilbraham Primary School at the back of the school's Foundation Unit.
The Centre was launched in September 2006 with a focus on working with partners such as health visitors, speech and language therapists, community midwifes, family support teams, jobcentre plus, childcare providers and others, to provide services for children and families at a local level. The main aim of the Children's Centre is to improve the five outcomes for children; Being Safe, Being Healthy, Enjoying and Achieving, Making a Positive Contribution, and Economic Wellbeing.
The Centre consists of a welcoming reception area, two meeting rooms, a daycare room, a breast-feed area and a small kitchen. The meeting rooms are presently used by different groups focusing on things like a healthy lifestyle, family support and family learning and they are available for use by the local community, or statutory and voluntary organisations. Any groups that wish to use the rooms, or any person wishing to develop a new group can book the rooms by contacting the Centre on 0161 219 6799.
Fallowfield SureStart Children's Centre is here to serve the community in and around the Fallowfield area, and it is essential that we know what the needs of the community are.
Any parents interested in helping us find out what is important to families and willing to represent the views of others would be more than welcome to be part of the Centre's Advisory Group.
For more information, contact Jeff Burns at the Children's Centre on 0161 219 6799 or leave an enquiry and we will get in touch with you.
Nichola Nolan - Teacher at Fallowfield SureStart Children's Centre
Nichola's role is to offer advice, support and information to all settings in the Fallowfield ward working with children up to five years old and their parents and carers.
As the children's centre teacher, Nichola knows and values the very important role parents and carers play in educating their children. Reading stories, singing rhymes and songs and talking with and listening to children are all important ways of supporting children's development.

Fallowfield Children's Centre Advisory Group
SureStart Children's Centres are based on the idea that the provision of combined flexible care and education, family support and health services is a key factor in determining good outcomes for children and their parents.
The Advisory Group is a way of bringing together local parents and key service providers to plan the delivery of appropriate services that meet the needs of local families living in the community. The group meets regularly, and a creche is provided to encourage as many parents as possible to attend.
