Our School Day

At Wilbraham, our school day starts at 9:00am and ends at 3:15pm.  Children are allowed into their classrooms from 8:55am.  It is important that children are not left on the school playground on their own unsupervised before school.  If a parent/carer needs to leave their child early, our Breakfast Club opens at 8:00am for all our early starters!

Registration takes place promptly at 9:00am.  Children should be ready to enter their classrooms at 8:55am so they get their mark in class before the registers close at 9:10am.  Punctuality is important at Wilbraham as children who arrive after 9:00am disrupt not only their own learning but the learning of other children as well.  Any child arriving at school after 9:10am will be given a late mark in the register.  Children who arrive after 9:30am are given an unauthorised absence mark for the morning session.

When dropping off or collecting children from school, we ask that parents/carers drive safely and park considerately.  For safety reasons, the main school gates and car park gates are closed at the beginning and end of each school day.  Parents/carers are asked to use the pedestrian entrances when entering and leaving school.  Cars should be parked away from the school entrance.  Parents/carers should not park on the zig-zag lines running in front of the school gates, it is an offence to park there at any time during school hours.  This is for the safety of all children entering our school premises.

The school car park is reserved for staff cars and delivery vehicles only.  Parents/carers are reminded that the gates to the car park are strictly NO ENTRY.

Lunchtime break is from 12:00 - 1:00pm for Foundation Stage, 12:15 - 1:15pm for Key Stage 1 and 12:30 - 1:30pm for Key Stage 2.  Lunch is a time children enjoy together - whether children are on packed lunch or school dinner.  School dinners are cooked daily on site in our school kitchen.

At the end of the day, children should be collected from the playgrounds.  Children in Foundation Stage and Year 1 are collected directly from the external entrances to their classrooms.  Children in Year 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 are brought to the school playground by their class teachers to meet the adult collecting them.  If for any reason parents cannot get to school on time to collect their children, they must contact the school office so that we are aware and measures can be taken.  We ask that children in Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 are brought to school and collected by someone over the age of sixteen.  School staff will not let your child go with someone they don't know unless you tell us of the change.
